cxc

cxc is a collection of assorted utility externals for Pd. Its documented objects include console output without a prefix, binary shifts, and other data-processing utilities; the last published SourceForge library release shown is 0.5.2 from 2013.

Objects

  • ENV ENV gets and sets environment variables.
  • ascseq The help patch does not explain the conversion performed by ascseq, so its precise purpose cannot be determined from this evidence.
  • ascwave ascwave produces an ASCII-style representation of changing numeric control values, suitable for printing with ixprint.
  • bfilt bfilt is a control-rate bang filter that combines an internal counter with a modulo operation and select 0.
  • bfilt2 bfilt2 is a control-rate bang filter that uses an internal counter and outputs bangs.
  • cxavgdev cxavgdev is used to calculate the average deviation of values in a Pd array, complementing cxmean and cxstddev.
  • cxc_counter cxc_counter is an internal control-rate counter that outputs its current value and can count up, down, or alternately up and down.
  • cxc_prepend cxc_prepend prepends specified content to arbitrary-length lists and other Pd messages, providing a way to add a prefix before output.
  • cxc_split cxc_split splits or tokenizes an incoming string at a specified delimiter, producing list, float, or symbol output.
  • cxmean cxmean calculates the mean of the values in a named array and outputs the result as a float.
  • cxstddev cxstddev calculates the standard deviation of the values in a named Pd array and outputs it as a float.
  • dist_normal dist_normal generates control-rate random floats with a normal distribution centered at mean 0 and having standard deviation 1.
  • fader fader is a simple volume control for two audio channels, with separate left and right audio inlets and outlets.
  • ixprint ixprint prints incoming messages with the prefix "print:".
  • mean~ mean~ is intended to calculate the signal mean of an array, with the array name supplied as its argument.
  • proc proc provides an interface to the Linux /proc filesystem for retrieving information such as CPU data, uptime, load averages, kernel version, and process statistics.
  • random1 random1 is a control-rate linear congruential random-number generator that outputs floats.
  • random1~ random1~ is a signal-rate linear congruential random-number generator, intended for producing a random signal.
  • random_fl random_fl is a control-rate linear congruential random-number generator that outputs floats.
  • random_fl~ random_fl~ is a signal-rate random-number generator that outputs a random signal.
  • random_icg random_icg is an inverse linear congruential random-number generator that outputs floats.
  • random_icg~ random_icg~ is an inverse linear congruential random-number generator intended to produce a random signal.
  • random_tw random_tw is a control-rate random-number generator that outputs floats, shown with lower and upper limit creation arguments such as random_tw 0 1.
  • serialize serialize turns a stream of floats into a list, providing control-rate conversion from individual values to grouped list output.
  • utime utime reports the time since the epoch when it receives a bang.
