Ed Kelly's collection of Pure Data externals includes counters, LPC and resonator objects, a transistor-ladder filter emulation, and wavefolding/wave-stretching tools for synthesis. Historical Pd infrastructure records it as an external library maintained in the Pd-extended source collection.

Objects

  • bmt~ bmt~ splits an rfft~ spectral analysis into a specified number of bands and reports the loudest bin in each band.
  • cup cup is a simple control-rate counter that counts upward from a float and outputs floats.
  • cupd cupd is a control counter that counts either up or down, outputting floats.
  • doubledelta doubledelta computes the delta and the delta-of-delta of incoming values, providing the results through two float outlets.
  • framescore~ framescore~ calculates a weighted similarity value for comparing alpha vectors produced by rfft~.
  • framespect~ framespect~ calculates a weighted similarity value by comparing the peak-level differences between two spectral vectors, such as vectors produced by rfft~.
  • hasc~ hasc~ analyzes signal input to determine the highest apparent spectral component.
  • hssc~ hssc~ reports the highest significant spectral component of a signal, which can be used to trace the extent of its high frequencies.
  • ihisto ihisto builds an integer histogram and reports the peak value and its frequency.
  • list_sum list_sum calculates the sum of the elements in a list, with support for a maximum length and a wrap value.
  • lpc~ lpc~ performs Linear Predictive Coding on an input signal, producing PARCOR information and a residual signal.
  • lpreson~ lpreson~ is a lattice IIR signal filter intended for linear predictive coding (LPC).
  • maskxor maskxor builds an exclusive-OR mask map from two lists supplied with listl and listr, for use in polyphony control.
  • peakit~ peakit~ processes spectral signals from rfft~ and reports detected peaks through two list outlets.
  • polymap polymap provides a two-dimensional, polyphony-restricted map backed by a 32×32 matrix, storing values from messages of the form note x y value.
  • polystat polystat outputs statistics about polyphonic voice usage, including used voices and a voice-to-instance map.
  • sieve sieve maps integer inputs to floating-point values stored at selected indices.
  • simile simile compares two numbers according to an error window, making it useful for comparing values such as pitches or durations.
  • simile~ simile~ compares two input signals according to an error measure.
  • steady steady takes a stream of numbers and outputs its maximum, minimum, and a filtered through value, making it useful for suppressing erroneous results or limiting changes to a specified range.
  • valve The help patch does not provide enough information to determine what valve does or its intended purpose.
  • voicing_detector~ voicing_detector~ analyzes frames of a speech signal and outputs a float indicating voiced (1) or unvoiced (0), for use in signal analysis.
  • weightonset weightonset calculates an onset-weighted moving average of successive float inputs, with later values influenced according to an influence factor and an optional attack phase.
  • zeroxpos~ zeroxpos~ finds a specified zero-crossing point within a DSP block, outputting its position in samples and its direction (polarity) from the right outlet.
