extra

The bundled “extra” collection shipped with Pd Vanilla, containing included externals such as fiddle~, sigmund~, and bob~. It is maintained as the extra directory of the main Pure Data source repository.

Objects

  • bonk~ bonk~ analyzes an incoming audio signal for attacks and measures its spectral envelope with a filterbank.
  • choice choice stores a list of vectors and searches them for the best match to an incoming list, outputting the matching vector’s index.
  • complex-mod~ complex-mod~ treats two input signals as the real and imaginary parts of a complex-valued signal and multiplies them by a sinusoid to shift all frequencies up or down by a specified amount in Hz.
  • expr expr evaluates mathematical expressions on control data.
  • fiddle~ fiddle~ estimates the pitch and amplitude of an input signal and finds its individual sinusoidal peaks, making it useful for pitch tracking and spectral-component analysis.
  • hilbert~ hilbert~ outputs a phase-quadrature version of its input signal.
  • loop~ loop~ is a phase generator for looping samplers, outputting phase while taking signal inputs for transposition on the left (1 is normal) and window size in samples on the right.
  • lrshift~ lrshift~ shifts the elements of a signal vector left or right, operating at the vector size of the current window.
  • pd~ pd~ starts and manages a Pd subprocess, with audio signals from the parent appearing in adc~ objects in the subprocess.
  • pique pique finds peaks in an unwindowed FFT spectrum stored as real- and imaginary-part arrays, reporting each peak’s number, frequency, amplitude, and phase as a cosine/sine pair.
  • rev1~ rev1~ is an experimental reverberator for adding reverberation to an audio signal.
  • rev2~ rev2~ is a simple one-input, four-output reverberator for adding reverberation to an audio signal.
  • rev3~ rev3~ is a hard-core two-input, four-output reverberator, described as more expensive and presumably better than rev2~.
  • sigmund~ sigmund~ analyzes incoming sound into sinusoidal components for pitch tracking, amplitude measurement, peak detection, note onset reporting, or partial tracking.
  • stdout stdout sends messages to Pd's standard output, providing a way to write Pd messages there.
