iem_bin_ambi

A Pure Data library for binaural Ambisonics decoding, including calculation of products between an Ambisonic decoder matrix and binaural HRIR data in the time or frequency domain. Its objects have subsequently been incorporated into the maintained iem_ambi package.

Objects

  • ambi_reduced_decode_fft2 ambi_reduced_decode_fft2 calculates a reduced set of HRTF spectra for Ambisonic binaural decoding by forming a decoder matrix from real and phantom loudspeaker positions, computing its pseudoinverse, and applying its columns to left-ear HRIRs followed by a real FFT.
  • ambi_reduced_decode_fir2 ambi_reduced_decode_fir2 supports Ambisonic binaural decoding by calculating a reduced decoder from real and phantom loudspeaker positions, Ambisonic order weights, and left-ear HRIRs, using a pseudo-inverse.
