Objects

  • chord-autorotate chord-autorotate outputs all rotations, or inversions, of an incoming list assumed to represent a chord.
  • chord-estimate chord-estimate estimates a MIDI-note list’s chord name, reporting the root pitch class, chord symbol, and inversion.
  • chord-foldover chord-foldover folds the elements of a chord list upward or downward, rotating the chord with octave changes and outputting the resulting list.
  • chord-intervals chord-intervals takes a list representing a chord structure and outputs the intervals between its elements.
  • chord-make chord-make repackages individual MIDI notes into lists representing notes at simultaneous time stamps, with the aim of processing homophonic MIDI data.
  • chord-structure chord-structure outputs the basic structure of a chord or pitch-class set from a list presumed to contain MIDI notes or pitches.
  • chord-transpose chord-transpose transposes a list interpreted as a chord by a specified number of semitones and outputs the transposed chord.
  • chord-unique chord-unique interprets an incoming list as a chord of MIDI notes and removes duplicate classes from the chord set.
  • chord-vocabulary chord-vocabulary applies a vocabulary reduction to a chord symbol, simplifying the output of a chord dictionary for different purposes.
  • distance-euclidean distance-euclidean calculates the Euclidean distance between two lists, outputting the result as a float.
  • distance-spearman distance-spearman calculates Spearman's rank correlation between two lists, with the left-inlet list compared against the list supplied to the right inlet.
  • get-files get-files finds files in a selected folder that match a criterion such as /*.pd; its folder argument specifies where to look.
  • key-estimate key-estimate estimates the key of incoming MIDI note-and-velocity data using profile matching, outputting both an integer key ID (0–11 major, 12–23 minor) and a key symbol.
  • key-profiles key-profiles loads named tonality profiles for key estimation and outputs each profile as a 12-element list.
  • key2pc key2pc converts a key-name symbol, such as C#, Bbm, or Gbm, into the key’s tonic pitch class (0–11) and modality.
  • midi-note-duration midi-note-duration receives incoming MIDI note data, such as data from a notein object, and reports the duration of a MIDI note event.
  • midi-noteson midi-noteson receives incoming MIDI data from a notein object and outputs lists containing all currently sounding note-on notes.
  • midi-panic-all midi-panic-all sends a MIDI panic message and all-notes-off across all MIDI channels to reset all MIDI voices.
  • midi-panic-ch midi-panic-ch sends a MIDI panic message and all-notes-off on a specified channel to reset MIDI voices.
  • midi-player midi-player is a MIDI file player and analyzer based on mrpeach/midifile; it filters out non-note information and outputs notes in Pd style, along with file timing information, flushed note data, and an end-of-file bang.
  • midi-quantizer midi-quantizer receives packed MIDI note data and quantizes it to a selected rhythmic division, with quaver as the default.
  • midi-sort-events midi-sort-events orders homophonic MIDI events so that note-off events come first.
  • midi-sync midi-sync receives transport information from an external MIDI source, outputting play/stop state, an approximate tempo in BPM, and bangs on rhythmic steps for use instead of metro.
  • midi2pc midi2pc converts MIDI note numbers into their corresponding pitch classes.
  • pcs-invert pcs-invert inverts a pitch-class set by mirroring it downward across a horizontal axis.
  • pcs-normalorder pcs-normalorder finds the normal order of an incoming pitch-class set, providing the set’s prime-form version.
  • pcs-order pcs-order orders an incoming pitch-class set—or, more generally, any list—from low to high.
  • pcs-pseudoprimeform pcs-pseudoprimeform converts an incoming list interpreted as a pitch-class set into its “pseudo” prime form for use in Forte-style pitch-class set theory.
  • pcs-retrograde pcs-retrograde reverses the order of an incoming list interpreted as a pitch-class set and outputs the resulting retrograde form.
  • pcs-transpose pcs-transpose transposes a pitch-class set by a specified number of semitones and outputs the transposed set.
  • pcs-unique pcs-unique removes duplicate pitch classes from an incoming list interpreted as a pitch-class set.
