Objects

  • any.== any.== tests whether two Pd data values—floats, symbols, or lists—are equal, outputting 1 for equal and 0 for unequal.
  • array.binop array.binop applies a two-input operation element by element to two input arrays and stores the results in a third array, while also outputting the iterated result values.
  • array.rand array.rand populates an array with random floating-point values between specified low and high bounds, using a specified step size.
  • array.unop array.unop applies a unary numerical operation or arbitrary one-input abstraction to each value in an input array, storing the results in an output array.
  • ls.binop ls.binop performs a binary operation element by element on two lists and outputs the results as a list.
  • ls.butlast ls.butlast returns a list without its last element.
  • ls.choose ls.choose selects a random element from a list, outputting the element from its left outlet and its index from the right outlet.
  • ls.circgroup ls.circgroup groups incoming float elements into a fixed-size list that acts as a circular buffer, prepending each new element and discarding the oldest element from the tail once the maximum length is exceeded.
  • ls.get ls.get retrieves an element from a stored list by integer index and is the same as ls.getRotate.
  • ls.getRotate ls.getRotate outputs an element from a stored list by integer index, wrapping through the list when the index is negative or exceeds the list length.
  • ls.group ls.group groups incoming float, symbol, or list elements into lists of a configurable size, with the initial group size set by its float argument.
  • ls.iter ls.iter iterates through a list and outputs each element along with its index.
  • ls.last ls.last gets the last element of an input list.
  • ls.max ls.max finds the greatest element in a list.
  • ls.mean ls.mean calculates the mean of a list of numbers.
  • ls.min ls.min outputs the smallest element of an input list.
  • ls.mode ls.mode finds the mode—the most frequent element—of a list.
  • ls.nearest ls.nearest iteratively searches a list for the number nearest to a target value.
  • ls.quicksort ls.quicksort is a vanilla abstraction that sorts the elements of a list in ascending order, supporting floats and symbols, with symbols placed to the left of floats.
  • ls.removeAt ls.removeAt removes (pops) the element at a specified index from an input list, outputting both the resulting list and the removed symbol or float.
  • ls.rotate ls.rotate rotates a stored list by a given integer index and outputs the rotated list.
  • ls.scramble ls.scramble is a vanilla abstraction that randomly rearranges the elements of an input list and outputs the scrambled list.
  • ls.ser.arithm ls.ser.arithm generates an arithmetic series from a low value to a high value in a specified number of steps.
  • ls.shuffle The help patch does not document ls.shuffle; it documents ls.scramble, a vanilla abstraction that randomly scrambles the elements of an input list.
  • ls.splice ls.splice substitutes element N of an original list with another list, producing the resulting list.
  • ls.unop ls.unop applies a unary operation or expression to each element of an input list and outputs the results as a list.
  • mtxgui mtxgui is a vanilla abstraction and GUI for working with matrices, supporting cell, row, column, and whole-matrix updates and queries with output tags suitable for routing and use with iemmatrix.
  • mtxstep mtxstep is a vanilla abstraction and GUI for creating polymetric, pattern-based step sequencers from a matrix of cells.
  • osc.in osc.in receives slash-styled OSC messages on a network port and reports the sender’s IP and the listening-port state alongside the OSC message.
  • osc.io osc.io combines binary UDP OSC sending and receiving in one object, using an internal netsend, and can support either one-way or two-way communication with a back port.
  • osc.match osc.match routes slash-style OSC messages according to a slash-style address supplied as its argument.
  • osc.out osc.out creates a binary UDP netsend connection for sending OSC-formatted messages, with optional two-way communication through a back port.
  • slash.oscformat slash.oscformat formats slash-style OSC messages, such as an address followed by its arguments, for transmission.
  • slash.oscroute slash.oscroute is a vanilla abstraction that routes list elements through a sequence of internal route objects created from slash-separated tags.
  • slash.rawlist slash.rawlist removes slashes from slash-styled OSC lists, converting them into raw lists.
  • symbol.== symbol.== tests whether two symbols are equal, providing 1 for the same symbol and 0 for different symbols.
  • symbol.split symbol.split splits an input symbol into a sequence of symbols using a specified character as the separator.
  • symbol.v symbol.v stores and retrieves symbol variables, serving a role similar to value/v for numbers by using an array.
  • symbol.value symbol.value gets and sets named symbol variables, providing symbol storage similar to what value and v provide for numbers by using an array.
